‘Andalucía Open Future’ exceeds 200 accelerated start-ups

Since its launch in 2014, ‘Andalucía Open Future’ has promoted more than 200 startups in its acceleration programme for high-performance companies and has become one of the benchmark initiatives to support technological entrepreneurship in the region. This programme, led by the Regional Ministry of Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and Universities, and Telefónica, with the collaboration of the city councils of Malaga, Almeria, and Cordoba, has incorporated 24 companies made up of 164 entrepreneurs in the acceleration spaces of El Cubo (Seville), La Farola (Malaga), El Cable (Almeria) and El Patio (Cordoba) in 2021.

In the first eight months of the year, ‘Andalucía Open Future’ startups have stood out in the main entrepreneurship and innovation events in Spain, being the Andalusian startup accelerator with the highest number of companies represented. Up to seven startups (Youforgetme, Biogenox, Knowdle AI Fintech, Aumentur, Sinapsystec, Nober Medical and Crea&Ticket) participated in the 10th edition of the Transfiere Forum. and 12 others travelled to IFEMA Madrid to attend FITUR 2021, where companies and institutions from 55 countries met to reactivate a strategic sector for the economy (Crea&Ticket, Cover Manager, Aumentur, Ok Located, Pikotea, iUrban, Vyootrip, Cisnea, Heimdall Technologies, MyStreetBook, Vanwoow and 2iXR).

In addition, another eight startups from the initiative attended the seventh edition of 4 Years From Now, one of the largest gatherings of entrepreneurs in Spain. On this occasion, Connectattoo, Dsruptive, Hidup Medical, Hiklub, Ok Located, Owo Games, Wilapp, Inveert and Runnerty participated.

It is worth mentioning that 12 of the 27 companies that competed in this edition as finalists have been or are currently being accelerated in the acceleration spaces of the Alhambra Venture programme (among them, Novality, Plannifai, Aumentur, Nicehop, Pikotea, Vanwoow, Batchor, Kradleco, Datacasas, Ornavera, Quodus and Owo Game). These dozen firms presented innovations in many of the trend-setting business sectors such as Recruitment, Smart Tourism, Retail, Smart Cities, Gaming, EdTech, Agrotech, and Proptech, among others.

During 2021, through this acceleration programme, up to 4,000 hours of mentoring have been developed, taught by a network of more than 80 mentors, and up to twenty online training events.
