Andalusian company United Caro achieves 30% export share and subsidiaries in Brazil, Argentina and France

The Andalusian foreign sector has demonstrated its competitiveness as an engine of economic growth. Now more than ever, Andalusia remains one of the most exporting regions in Spain, with exports of more than 27,832 million euros in 2020, and a trade surplus of 3,159 million euros. Internationally successful Andalusian companies such as United Caro, a family company with more than 70 years of experience in the manufacture of natural casings for sausages, are responsible for this strength.

This company from Granada, with its headquarters in Baza, is a great reference in the sector, providing innovative and revolutionary products such as ‘Especta-CULAR’ and ‘Maextra’, advanced solutions and developments that favour resistance, uniformity, and insulation for sausages, but without losing tradition.

United Caro embarked on the road to export when it began to produce 100% of its products, controlling the entire production process and quality guarantees. This security is what allowed them to go international.

Currently, the company from Granada has 550 employees distributed between its main headquarters in Baza, Granada; its other production facilities, located in Morocco and Brazil; and its different sales points in Brazil, Argentina, and France.

In terms of markets, Europe and South America are the main continents, although it also has sales in Africa and Asia. Countries such as France, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Argentina, and Morocco are importers of United Caro products. The foreign market accounts for 30% of the group’s total sales.

The company has two clear lines to follow in the coming years. On the one hand, to promote innovation in the search for new solutions for the sausage sector; and on the other, to continue with its internationalisation plan, not only through distributors but also by creating its own offices and centres in different countries.
