Footgolf, a sport that is growing and growing in Andalusia

Footgolf is a sport that fuses golf and football in one. It was founded in 2009 in the Netherlands and is becoming more and more popular in Andalusia, where many of its golf courses are already practicing this new sport.

The rules of Footgolf are very similar to Golf, the only difference is that you use a football ball and you hit it with your foot, trying to get the ball into each hole, which is bigger so that the ball can go in, in as few strokes as possible.

A non-contact, healthy, and fun sport that is becoming increasingly popular. In this sport, which combines both sports, football players can improve their touch, striking, and precision in full contact with nature. A sport, also, that in times of pandemic has been able to continue without any problems.

There are numerous golf courses in Andalusia that give special treatment to this sport, giving it the place it deserves in their courses and with special and suitable rates and locations. This is the case in places such as Jerez de la Frontera, Malaga, Marbella, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Mijas, Antequera, etc…

Numerous tournaments, leagues, and championships are taking place in Andalusia and numerous teams are emerging in this region. For example, Xerez Deportivo Footgolf, a club that dedicates its efforts to this sport and which is a branch of a football club with the same name, Xerez DFC (from Jerez de la Frontera) which plays in the Third Division of Spanish football.
