Granada host Manchester United in the Europa League quarter-finals

Granada CF, an Andalusian football club in the Spanish Primera División, is making history in Europe. It is the first time that this humble club has played in European competition, and it is competing at the highest level. Granada will play in the quarter-finals of the Uefa Europa League in April after eliminating Napoli in the round of 32 and Molde in the round of 16. For this round, where the best eight teams of this competition will face each other, Granada will face the favourite to lift this trophy.

Manchester United is the favourite to win the Uefa Europa League this season. The Red Devils have a great, well-balanced squad and are a much bigger club than this competition. Manchester United is one of the teams with the biggest fan base in the world, and especially in England. And that is why it will be an honour for Granada to be able to face this giant of European football.

It is not yet known whether Manchester United will be able to travel to Granada to play one of the two matches of this tie on the pitch of Los Cármenes. On a day that would be historic for the city of Granada. Until 30 March, the Spanish Government does not allow entry to UK citizens. The tie will be played at the beginning of April. Granada is making history in Europe and Diego Martínez, their coach, described the tie in this way: “As we can’t choose our opponents, what we can do is prepare ourselves to the maximum and above all to be able to enjoy a tie against a European great like Manchester. Being here is already something unique. We are going to compete without any complexes. We are confident in our chances”.
