Andalusia registered the creation of 1,317 companies in July, 3.1% more than those registered in the provincial mercantile registers in the same month in 2020. These are data provided by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA). According to this information, the capital subscribed for their incorporation exceeded 63.7 million euros, 125.6% higher than a year ago.
The number of companies formed so far this year totals 11,175 and the capital subscribed exceeds 499.1 million euros, representing increases of 51.2% and 58.3%, respectively, to the period from January to July 2020.
On the other hand, in terms of the activity carried out by the new companies, the area of commerce and repairs accounts for the largest number of incorporations in Andalusia, with 19.3%. This is followed in quantitative importance by real estate activities and hotels and restaurants, with 13.2% and 10.8%, respectively. The construction sector accounted for 10.6%, followed by other services (9.3%), industry and energy (9.0%), and professional, scientific or technical activities (7.8%).
It should also be mentioned that in July a total of 276 mercantile companies increased their capital, 3.4% more than in the same month of 2020, with a subscribed amount exceeding 1,163.4 million euros. The number of companies that reduced capital was 48.
