More than 40 Andalusian startups break records participating in the 9th edition of the South Summit forum on digital entrepreneurship

The presence of Andalusian startups seeking business opportunities at the ‘South Summit’ continues to grow and this year reached its record participation. More than 40 startups, most of them supported by the Junta de Andalucía, have gathered in Madrid, between 5 and 7 October, in the ninth edition of the national event of reference in the digital entrepreneurship ecosystem.

With its participation in the forum, the Government of Andalusia reinforces its commitment to make visible and support the innovation of Andalusian entrepreneurs by facilitating the connection with national and international investors and large companies. This meeting, which has resumed its face-to-face format after the COVID-19 pandemic, was attended by 650 speakers, 1,200 investors with a portfolio of up to 112,000 million euros, 6,800 start-ups, and 6,700 corporations from more than 120 countries around the world.

A total of 14 startups have represented the Andalusian community during the three days at the stand that the Regional Ministries of the Presidency, Public Administration and the Interior, and Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge, and Universities have set up at the exhibition. Among them are the five winners of the first edition of the regional competition ‘Startup Andalusia Roadshow’, launched by Economic Transformation to select the best start-ups from all Andalusian provinces. These five companies are Owo Games, Limnopharma, MyHixel, Wuolah, and Scoobic.

For its part, Extenda, as part of its promotional activity for the international development of Andalusian firms, has facilitated the participation of the companies AR Visión, Datacasas Proptech, Examexam, Froged, Grupo Mox, Ok Located, Tales Technology, Turbotec, and Plus VItech.

The Government of Andalusia has also facilitated access and participation in the event to almost twenty startups from different Andalusian provinces accelerated by the Ministry of Economic Transformation through the public-private collaboration initiatives promoted together with Telefónica and Vodafone, Andalucía Open Future, and Minerva, respectively. In addition, two Andalusian companies, Genially and Twenix, have participated as speakers in the South Summit programme.

Within its programme, South Summit organises the ‘Startup Competition’ in which 100 international companies have competed for the title of Best Startup of the Year, which provides a solid reputation to attract investors and venture capital.

This year five Andalusian startups have been selected, Kampaoh, Newe, IOVI, Kaikoo, and Logistiko.
