Exports from Andalusia reached the historical record figure of 3,206 million in January 2023, which represents a growth of 6.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, and makes it the best January in history since comparable data has been available (1995).
The Government of Andalusia has promoted Andalusia’s participation in the Foodex Japan 2023 fair this March, the main agri-food fair in Japan, the second largest Asian market for Andalusia’s food and beverages, after China, with 164 million euros exported in 2022. The event, which is considered the most important in the Asia-Pacific region, was held from 7 to 10 March at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center.
Extenda Global 2022, the annual event that brings together Andalusia’s foreign sector, will be held once again on 16 and 17 November at the Trade Fair and Congress Centre of Malaga (Fycma). Exports from Andalusia reached €14,113 million between January and April 2022, which is the highest figure recorded for the first four-month period of the year since there have been comparable records (1995). The increase recorded by the Spanish average was 23.2%. International sales grew by 27.7% in April to €3,914 million.

The Andalusian economy grew by 3.1% in the third quarter of this year concerning the same period of the previous year, four-tenths of a percentage point higher than the estimate for the national economy as a whole, which stands at 2.7%, according to the advance of GDP made by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA), which reports to the Regional Ministry of Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and Universities. Exports from Andalusia recorded a 39% growth in August, the highest ever for an August month, reaching 2,391 million euros, which is the second-best figure in the historical series (1995) for this month. The Industrial Turnover Index in Andalusia increased by 30.1% year-on-year in August, six points more than in the previous month and almost double that at the national level (17.1%), making six consecutive months of increase.
