The number of scientific publications from Andalusian public universities registered in the Andalusian Scientific Information System (SICA) and the Web of Science (WoS) has grown by 35.8% from 2018 to 2022, from 12,248 to 16,635 publications per year.
The Consejo Regulador of Denomination of Origin of Sherry Wines, the University of Cádiz (UCA), and the Jerez City Council have established the Carmelo García Barroso International Wine Research Award of the Marco de Jerez, in homage and posthumous recognition of the figure of this professor, researcher, and disseminator of wine culture.
