Numerous Spanish players have been playing in the prestigious Premier League for many years. Within this quota of Spanish-born players, there are two, at present, who are Andalusian and who are triumphing with more or less success in UK. Both happen to be from Seville and both played for Real Betis. They are Adrián San Miguel and Dani Ceballos.
Adrián San Miguel is already 34 years old, is from Seville and has been playing in the Premier League for several years. He currently plays for Liverpool, being Alisson Becker’s alternate. With Reds he has won a Premier League, a European Super Cup, being a starter, and a Club World Cup. Adrián has been in England since 2013. The goalkeeper from Seville played for West Ham for several seasons, establishing himself in the starting line-up and even being called up to the Spanish national team, although he has yet to make his debut. Since 2019 he has been at Liverpool under the orders of Jurgen Klopp and both last season and this season, he has been able to enjoy several games as a starter in both Premier League and Champions League.
Dani Ceballos is only 24 years old and was born in Utrera (Seville). He has been a Real Betis youth team player since he was a youth, making his debut in La Liga with the first team in 2014, when he was only 17 years old. Adrián had made his debut with Real Betis two years earlier. Ceballos established himself in La Liga with Real Betis and was called up to the U-19 national team and went on to become European Champion, later also being called up to the senior national team. In 2017 he signed for Real Madrid. In fact, to this day he is still a Real Madrid player, although he is on loan at Arsenal. With Real Madrid he has won a Champions League, two Club World Cups and a Spanish Super Cup. With Gunners he made his debut in 2019, on loan for one season. In the 20/21 campaign, the current one, he has again been loaned to North London. With Arsenal, Ceballos won an FA Cup last season under Mikel Arteta. He currently alternates between starts and substitutes in both the Premier League and Europa League.
Two Andalusians who carry the green and white flag all over UK. Proud of their origins. One in Liverpool and the other in London.
