Andalusia set its record for fruit and vegetable exports in 2020

Andalusia reached a new record for fruit and vegetable exports in 2020, with 6,026 million euros in sales abroad. This is its all-time high for a year since there have been comparable records (1995), thanks to a growth of 3.5% compared to the 2019 data.

In this way, the community reinforces its leadership in fruit and vegetable exports in Spain, with almost 2 out of every 5 euros (37%) of national sales, which reached 16,459 euros, well ahead of the Valencian Community (26.4%) and Murcia (18.5%). These figures are provided by Extenda.

By products, in 2020, peppers led sales, with 825 million, followed by tomatoes, with 689 million. Cucumbers also stand out, with sales growing by 5.7%. This was followed by strawberries, dates, figs and pineapples.

In 2020, the three main markets for the Andalusian fruit and vegetable sector abroad grew, all of them European. The first foreign destination is Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy. It should be noted that all Andalusian provinces increased their sales in 2020, except Huelva.
