Some of the most important companies in Andalusia have joined the ‘Diversity’ campaign, “an extraordinary place where job opportunities do not exclude anyone”. This project has been launched by UNEI, a non-profit Andalusian social enterprise, a European benchmark in labour and social integration of people with mental health problems and other disabilities.
Endesa, Cepsa, Vodafone, Real Betis Balompié Foundation, Wellness Telecom, WTS Horizon, Barbadillo, González Byass, BidaFarma, and Isla Mágica are the first to have already “moved to Diversity” and more companies committed to inclusion and equal opportunities in the labour market are expected to join in the coming weeks. The University of Seville has also joined this initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of diversity and the integration of people with disabilities in professional environments.
The companies that have participated in this symbolic action have received at their corporate headquarters a removal lorry covered in vinyl and labelled with the message “Are you moving to Diversity with us? The campaign is having a wide repercussion in the professional social network of reference, LinkedIn.
According to Rafael Cía, CEO of UNEI, “this campaign is a commitment to the integration and inclusion of groups that have more difficulties in finding opportunities in our society, hence the importance of business sector entities and institutions to become actively involved and share collective awareness-raising actions to move towards building a better world in which all people add up”. We all have something to contribute so that coexistence is truly fruitful and makes us grow as people. Diversity is the world to which our society must aspire”, he stressed.
The campaign has its website and a manifesto. In addition, Diversity has its anthem created by the composer and vocalist Miguel Ángel Hernando, popularly known as “Lichis”, who has covered ‘Felicidad’, one of the greatest hits of La Cabra Mecánica, the pop-rock group he led during the 90s.
