Andalusia plans to open 90% of tourist accommodation this summer

The Government of Andalusia forecasts that this coming summer 90% of Andalusian accommodation will be open to receive visitors.

The highest opening rates will be on the coast and the occupancy rate is expected to be 54%, rising to over 60% in provinces such as Cadiz and Huelva, while Malaga could be at 56%. A total of 9 million tourists will arrive in Andalusia between July and September, while the total for the year could be close to 20 million.

According to the organisers, 6 out of every 10 visitors to Fitur visited the Andalusia stand (38,600 visits, of which more than 26,000 were professionals and 12,400 were general public).

97.2% of Andalusian businessmen and professionals consider that the fair has a very positive impact on the development of tourism in Andalusia. The stand representing Andalusia was rated with 8 points on a scale of 1 to 10.

It is important to mention that the Vice President of the Andalusian Regional Government and Regional Minister for Tourism, Juan Marín, has informed that the Council of Government on Tuesday 1st June will approve the transfer of credit of 72 million euros to pay the aid for hotel establishments, tourist flats and campsites, and rural tourist complexes because of the pandemic.
