Andalusian olive oil exports break records in Southeast Asia

Andalusia is the leading region in olive oil exports to Southeast Asia, accounting for 60% of national sales in 2020. The turnover achieved is 23.3 million euros, thanks to year-on-year growth of 2.5%.
The increase in olive oil exports from Andalusia to the region has been favoured by the increase in the number of exporting companies.

In total, 46 Andalusian firms sold olive oil to Southeast Asia in 2020, which is 31% more than in 2019. Also, more than half are regular exporters with more than four years of experience and account for 94% of all exports.

The Philippines is the leading market in the region, with sales of 7.6 million, 33% of the total, and a growth of 1.1% compared to 2020. Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia also stand out.

Seville is the leading province in olive oil exports to Southeast Asia with 19.9 million in 2020, 85% of the total and a year-on-year increase of 3.3%.

Indonesia has become an emerging market for Andalusian olive oil, as its demand is doubling thanks, to a large extent, to the healthy consumption habits that have grown with the COVID-19 pandemic.
