From 5 to 7 April, 50 Andalusian agribusiness companies, 47 to be precise, will be taking part in Fruit Logistica, the most important fruit and vegetable fair on the international scene, which is being held in Berlin. Andalusia is attending this event with a new record of agri-food exports in January compared to the same month in 2021.
Exports from Andalusia recorded a 39% growth in August, the highest ever for an August month, reaching 2,391 million euros, which is the second-best figure in the historical series (1995) for this month. These data provided by Extenda consolidate the reactivation of Andalusia’s foreign trade throughout this year, which has already accumulated sales of 22,093 million in the first eight months, surpassing even the figures recorded before the pandemic (21,833 million in January-August 2019) and reaching a growth of 20.2% over January-August 2020.
A total of 14 Andalusian companies or brands from the music sector are taking part in the 27th edition of the WOMEX (Worldwide Music Expo) Fair, which is being held in Oporto (Portugal) from 27 to 31 October. On the initiative of the Regional Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage – through the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions – and Extenda (Andalusian public company for Foreign Promotion), representatives of musical groups, distributors, recording studios, flamenco artists, record companies, and others will be able to sell their products or share experiences with some 2,500 agents from more than 80 countries.
Extenda Global 2021, the annual event that brings together Andalusia’s foreign sector, will once again be held in person on 17 and 18 November at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Sevilla (Fibes). The event, which is the largest international trade meeting held in Andalusia, has today opened its registration period through the web portal www.extendaglobal.es, where companies can also formalise their requests for B2B meetings with representatives of the 62 countries they are interested in, of the 62 in which the Extenda External Network provides services.
The presence of Andalusian startups seeking business opportunities at the ‘South Summit’ continues to grow and this year reached its record participation. Extenda-Andalucía Exports and Foreign Investment organised the participation of a dozen Andalusian firms in the Smart Agrifood Summit, the leading meeting in the industry for the creation of innovation ecosystems in the European agri-food sector, which was held between 30 September and 1 October at the Trade Fairs and Congress Centre in Malaga. This is a new area of innovative business linked to the agri-food complex in which Andalusia has exported 147 million euros between January and July 2021, with a growth of 16.2%, its second-best figure in history.
