The retail trade sales index grew at current prices in July by 6.2% year-on-year in Andalusia, more than one point above the previous month. Turnover in the industry grew by 36% year-on-year in Andalusia last June compared to the same month last year, 17 points higher than the Spanish average. This is the result of the data relating to the Industrial Turnover Index published by the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA), which reports to the Regional Ministry of Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge, and Universities.

The agri-food industry is the main industry in Andalusia. The Governing Council has approved the Strategy for the Internationalisation of the Andalusian Economy 2021-2027 (EIEA 21-27), which has an initial allocation of 618 million euros aimed at increasing the degree of internationalisation of the Andalusian economy and companies, generating quality employment and strengthening Andalusia’s position in the world, to increase exports and foreign investment.
