Entrepreneurs and the Government of Andalusia present a plan to bring Health and Economy together

The President of the Government of Andalusia has ratified the agreement to activate the “Sumamos Salud+Economía” Plan (“We add Health+Economy”) in Andalusia, a national initiative promoted by the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE).

The signing ceremony was also attended by the President of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, and the President of the Andalusian Confederation of Employers (CEA), Javier González de Lara. The Regional Minister of Health and the President of the CEOE Foundation, Fátima Báñez, also attended.

Moreno explained that this mutual collaboration has its starting point in initiatives such as the 100,000 rapid antigen tests per month that will be carried out in workplaces where there is a high concentration of workers.

The regional president also spoke of the importance of vaccination in halting the COVID-19 pandemic. “Andalusia is at the top of the list in terms of vaccines administered. Twenty-eight percent of the target population, children under 16 years of age, already have at least one dose. We can vaccinate more than 100,000 people a day, but more vaccines are needed. More vaccinated people means new hope for tourism, commerce and hospitality.

Andalusia put in place a first aid plan last year and another €732 million has already been approved. Added to this is a tax cut that will benefit almost half of Andalusians who will save €329 million. With the 2019 tax reform, Andalusians have paid less tax and €600 million more has been collected thanks to the increase in taxpayers.

“It is time for less ideology and more real solutions”, Moreno has concluded.
