Retail sales also grow in Andalusia

The retail trade sales index grew at current prices in July by 6.2% year-on-year in Andalusia, more than one point above the previous month. This is the result of the ‘Weekly Economic Observatory of the Andalusian Regional Government’ presented by the Regional Ministry of Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge, and Universities to the Governing Council.

Turnover in the industry grew by 36% year-on-year in Andalusia last June compared to the same month last year, 17 points higher than the Spanish average. Since its launch in 2014, ‘Andalucía Open Future’ has promoted more than 200 startups in its acceleration programme for high-performance companies and has become one of the benchmark initiatives to support technological entrepreneurship in the region. This programme, led by the Regional Ministry of Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and Universities, and Telefónica, with the collaboration of the city councils of Malaga, Almeria, and Cordoba, has incorporated 24 companies made up of 164 entrepreneurs in the acceleration spaces of El Cubo (Seville), La Farola (Malaga), El Cable (Almeria) and El Patio (Cordoba) in 2021.
